BNKC Architects
BNKC architects are patient, creative and thorough. They have worked with us on design, enduring many changes as we explore the flow in our spaces, the ways we can practically support people with safe and practical housing.
Version after version, we are creating a new space for St. John's Kitchen that makes accessible bathrooms, laundry, shower, hamper rooms, and food - thoughtfully imaging the time we can get away from take-out containers and serve food on ceramic plates again! St. John's Kitchen serves meals to 450 people a day - this means a carefully planned flow of supplies, food, dishes and food service makes all the difference. Plus socks, clothing, toiletries, and snacks. We will be so excited to be on the ground floor in our new space, so we don't have to lug everything up and down the stairs!
Transforming a building built in 1925 into accessible supportive housing is a real art. We have learned so much about what works, and what doesn't, and the BNKC receives these ideas and turns them into practical and precise plans.
